Take note of the Tenerife excursions that we recommend you below. Keep reading!

Costa Adeje excursions: Hiking in Roque del Conde

Roque del Conde is one of the natural symbols of Costa Adeje. To visit it we have to follow a hiking route of about 6 kilometers, which begins in Vento, within the municipality of Arona. It is precisely in the main street of Vento from where this route has its official exit.

It is a route of only six kilometers but, as it develops through different ravines, it takes about 4 hours to complete. It is not recommended for inexperienced hikers, but people already prepared and made for a somewhat complicated journey, since it is necessary to ascend and descend some ravines.

However, the route allows us to contemplate some of the best views of the south coast of Tenerife. The reward? To contemplate the panoramic view of Costa Adeje from Roque del Conde, also known as Roque de Ichasagua, in memory of the Guanche chief who resisted several years in these summits the siege of the Christian troops after the conquest, at the end of the 15th century, of the island of Tenerife, and even Fortaleza de Ahiyo.

With its thousand meters above sea level, the beautiful silhouette of the Roque del Conde will accompany us throughout the crossing of our route. The path is perfectly signposted, although it is somewhat hard, as it crosses the ravines of Las Casas, Ancón and El Rey among others.

Hikers can find these spots as one of the main Tenerife points of interest for local and tourists.

Horse Riding

Horse riding in Tenerife is a very prominent, popular pastime, not the least because it provides a leisurely way to explore the island and access places that a motor vehicle couldn’t.

In Costa Adeje, there are several equestrian schools where you can take a course or just ride by yourself.

You can do horse riding whether it’s in the mountains, through old roads or along the coast. It is highly recommended as an activity to discover the nature of the island.

Many specialized companies offer the opportunity to travel freely, with a guide or make organized trips in small groups.

Costa Adeje excursions: Paragliding

Paragliding in Costa Adeje is one of the most incredible and amazing Tenerife activities in the Canary Islands.

The sensation of flying is one of the things that give you more adrenaline than we humans can experience. Silently flying with the birds through the sea of clouds gives us a unique sense of calmness, freedom and pure joy. Paragliding gives us the opportunity to enjoy the wonders of the Mother Earth from the heights.

There are people who do paragliding on a regular basis, constantly challenging themselves, flying higher, jumping from a higher mountain every time. There are people who dream about it for years, seeing it as a life-changing opportunity to set themselves free from everyday stress and monotony.

No matter what your motivation is, just do it. Come to Tenerife, jump high and chase the sun. We only regret the things we don’t do.

Here’s a list of the spots you can visit:

  • Ifonche Villaflor
  • Fasnia Volcano
  • Izaña towards South or North
  • Taucho, Adeje
  • Ladera de Güímar
  • La Corona – Los Realejos

For all those who love adventure and strong emotions, without a doubt one of the things to do in Tenerife is to practice paragliding in Costa Adeje, (Tenerife). It will be one of the experiences you will never forget.

Siam Park

This place is awesome. Set in 185,000m2 of exotic plants and buildings and of course water-based rides, Siam Park is an all-day experience you’ll never ever forget.

Family fun is their “motto” with rides such as Jungle Snakes, Mekong Rapids, Naga Races and much more.

If you feel hungry after all the energy expended in this place, here you could have tasty burgers and hotdogs for sure, or just have a leisurely lunch in one of the restaurant bars: eat in the floating market overlooking the Sea Lion pool, or perhaps the Beach Club is more your scene.

Undoubtedly, Siam Park is one of the most visited Tenerife attractions.

Costa Adeje excursions: Buggy Ride

On board the 800CC booster buggies, you will discover the splendor or the Teide National Park by driving off the road along the forest roads. You will also drive on land tracks by the sea and banana plantations discovering Europe’s highest cliffs: Los Gigantes.

And you will enjoy the volcanic landscapes of the Teide where numerous famous movies like “Star Wars”, Fury of Titans, were surrounded.

A unique experience! The buggy ride is one of the best things to do in the south of Tenerife if you want to know new paths and get lost in this magical island.

Barranco del Infierno: A Hell of a Hike!

Barranco del Infierno (Hell’s Canyon), at Tenerife’s southern coast Adeje got his name due to its vast depths. The access is limited to 300 people per day and the hike lasts 3h30.

If you are interested in going to Barranco del Infierno you should know that you can easily get there by public transportation, you’ll need to walk by feet 15 minutes through the village’s picturesque center before you reach the famous “Otelo’s Restaurant”.

The hike’s destination is Tenerife’s highest waterfall. The steep cliffs are full of caves that were used by Tenerife’s aborigines: Los Guanches.

Did I mention that the path isn’t circular?  Ok, at this point I’m telling you, you’ll need to take the same way as you came to get back to your departing point.

Snorkel Tour and whale and dolphin watching

The crystal clear waters surrounding Costa Adeje, Tenerife, are considered the best in Spain for activities such as diving or snorkeling. They have nothing to envy to the beaches of Central America. In the underwater explorations, you can find manta rays, lemon fish, bull sharks, eagle rays and many other species that will leave you in love with the underwater nature.

Snorkeling allows us to observe the marine biodiversity of the island. It’s not necessary a professional equipment and a previous experience practice this sport if you know where to go.
