The coldest month is February, which still has a maximum of 22ºC and an average low of 15ºC. However, the driest month is January, being October the wettest with 8 mm of rain. December makes the ideal combination of soft temperatures and perfect timing to even spend your Christmas on this island or for just doing your Winter holidays.
This is the closest and the most economical option to escape cold weather inside the UE since it will only take 4 hours of flight to arrive there.
We should also remind you that the island itself has a variety of climates depending on where you are staying. South Tenerife will always tend to be warmer than the North.

What should I wear in Tenerife in December?

We recommend you pack what you usually wear during springtime since is the type of weather you will find when you arrive there. That includes shorts, skirts, and dresses, but also some long jeans and a jacket because it can get chilly sometimes, especially during night-time.
Do not forget an umbrella or a raincoat, because even though usually it does not rain, it can be useful if bad weather catches you by surprise.
Keep in mind that it will not be as hot as in Summer and temperatures will go around 22ºC to 15ºC, so it will warm but not as much as in June or July. Bring different types of clothes so you are ready both for hot and cold days.
And finally, the most important of all: your swimsuit!
