I regularly speak with couples, parents and groups of friends who want to fly together during their holiday in Tenerife. Their first question is often simple: “Can we all do it together?” The answer is normally yes, but “together” in paragliding does not necessarily mean every wing takes off at exactly the same second or follows exactly the same route.
Each passenger flies with an individual tandem pilot. Our job is therefore to coordinate the people, pilots, equipment and weather so that the group can share the experience while each flight remains an individual aviation decision.
Couples, families and groups can book tandem paragliding together in Tenerife. We try to keep the experience shared and easy to follow, but exact take-off order, simultaneous flights and identical airtime cannot be guaranteed because every flight depends on the passengers, pilots and real conditions at the time.
Is tandem paragliding easy to book as a couple?
Yes. A booking for two people is normally the simplest type of shared booking. Each person flies with a different tandem pilot, and when pilot availability and conditions allow, the two flights may take place close together in time.
Couples do not need to choose the same flight type. One person may want a relaxed scenic experience while the other prefers more airtime or optional dynamic manoeuvres. What matters is that each passenger books the experience that suits them rather than feeling obliged to copy their partner.
If one person is enthusiastic and the other is unsure, it is useful to talk about that before the day of the flight. My guide for passengers who feel nervous before their first tandem flight explains what the experience actually feels like and why nobody should be pressured into flying.
Can families with children book tandem paragliding together?
Yes. Families are a common part of our daily operation. The key is to look at each child and adult individually rather than treating the family as one single passenger profile.
Children need to meet the practical requirements for the activity, including being able to understand the pilot's instructions and participate correctly during take-off. Parents should also consider whether the child genuinely wants to fly. A child who is excited and engaged is very different from a child who is being persuaded by the rest of the family.
Overfly accepts children from six years old when the equipment, weight, mobility and conditions are suitable. Our detailed guide explains the age requirements for tandem paragliding in Tenerife, including children, older adults and mobility considerations.
What if one parent does not want to fly?
That is not a problem. Not everyone in the family needs to participate. A parent or other relative can simply accompany the group for the practical part of the experience when the day's logistics allow it. The important thing is that the booking clearly identifies who is actually flying.
Do parents and children always fly beside each other?
We try to coordinate families in a way that feels shared, but tandem paragliders are independent aircraft. Different pilots may launch a few minutes apart, find different areas of lift or need different approaches to landing. Flying immediately beside another family member is therefore something that may happen, not something that can responsibly be promised in advance.
How do group bookings work for friends travelling together?
For groups of friends, the main difference is coordination. We need enough suitable tandem pilots, the correct equipment for the passengers and enough time to prepare everyone properly without turning the briefing into a rushed production line.
A group of three, four, five or six passengers can often be organised within the same operational window. Larger groups may require more planning, and it is especially useful to contact us before booking if the group contains very different passenger weights, children, mobility concerns or people who want different flight experiences.
What about group discounts?
When an online group discount is available, it is applied according to the booking conditions shown at the time of purchase. The simplest approach is to place the passengers who want the same date and time in the same reservation whenever possible, while still entering the correct details for each person. If you want to compare the different flight options, inclusions and discounts in more detail, our guide explains how paragliding prices work in Tenerife.
Can everyone in the group take off at exactly the same time?
Sometimes several pilots can launch close together, but an exact simultaneous take-off should never be treated as part of the product. Each pilot has to assess the wing, passenger, airflow, traffic and launch area independently before committing to take-off.
One passenger may therefore leave first and another a few minutes later. During the flight, the wings may be close to each other for part of the route or may separate as the pilots use different areas of lift. The same principle applies at landing.
Can people in the same booking choose different flight types?
Yes. A couple or group does not have to choose one identical experience for everybody. One passenger may prefer a straightforward scenic flight, another may want a longer performance-oriented option, and another may be interested in dynamic manoeuvres.
Different flight choices can affect timing because the intended airtime and flight profile are not the same. If staying together before and after the activity is more important than choosing different products, tell us. We can explain what is practical for that particular booking.
Why do we need the age and weight of every passenger?
In a group booking, it is not enough to know that there are “five adults” or “two adults and two children”. Each passenger is matched to a pilot, wing and harness system, and the complete operation must remain within the equipment and weather limits used by the pilot.
This is why we ask for honest passenger information. Weight is particularly important because it interacts with equipment, wind, take-off conditions and pilot planning. If anyone is close to the upper or lower range, read our guide explaining how tandem paragliding weight limits are evaluated and contact us if the situation is unclear.
Information worth checking before you book for several people
- The exact number of passengers who actually want to fly.
- The age of every child in the group.
- The current weight of every passenger, especially anyone near the published limits.
- Any recent injury, reduced mobility, pregnancy or relevant medical concern.
- Whether anyone in the group is particularly nervous or unsure about participating.
- Whether everyone wants the same flight type.
What happens to a family or group booking if the weather changes?
Weather affects every tandem flight, but changes can feel more complicated when several people have organised the activity together. A sunny hotel terrace does not tell us whether the wind direction, gusts, cloud, thermal activity or landing conditions are appropriate at the flying site.
Depending on the situation, the team may adjust the meeting time, change the operational plan, wait for a better window, postpone the activity or cancel it. Our weather guide explains why a tandem flight can change or be cancelled even on a sunny day in Costa Adeje.
For groups, flexibility is especially valuable. If paragliding is an important part of your holiday, booking it earlier in your stay gives you more room to reschedule if conditions are unsuitable on the original day.
How should a couple, family or group prepare for the flight?
The preparation is simple, but it helps enormously when everyone follows the same basics. Closed shoes are essential, a light windproof jacket should be available, and long comfortable trousers are recommended. Loose objects should be secured before reaching the take-off area.
Our complete clothing guide explains what to wear for tandem paragliding in Tenerife, including shoes, jackets, trousers, sunglasses and the difference between the temperature on the coast and at the mountain take-off.
Try not to organise another fixed-time activity immediately afterwards. Group preparation, transport, changing conditions and the order of the flights can make the total experience longer than the advertised airtime alone suggests.
What happens after you make a group booking?
After the reservation is received, we review the information and use the contact details supplied with the booking for practical updates. Keep the booking phone available and check WhatsApp, particularly if the weather requires an adjustment to the meeting time or plan.
My step-by-step guide explains what happens after you book a tandem paragliding flight in Tenerife, from the confirmation and weather monitoring to the meeting point, preparation, flight and delivery of the media afterwards.
FAQs about booking tandem paragliding for couples, families and groups
Can two people paraglide together in Tenerife?
Yes. Each passenger flies with a separate tandem pilot. When conditions and pilot availability allow, the two flights can often be organised close together in time, but an exactly simultaneous take-off cannot be guaranteed.
Can our whole family book the same time slot?
Usually, yes. The booking still needs to account for the age, weight and suitability of each passenger. The exact order of the flights is decided according to pilots, equipment and conditions on the day.
Can children and adults fly in the same family booking?
Yes, provided every passenger meets the relevant participation requirements. Children must be willing to fly, understand the instructions and be able to participate correctly at take-off.
Can everyone choose a different flight?
Yes. People in the same group can choose different flight experiences. This may affect the timing because different products can have different intended airtime and flight profiles.
Will all of us be in the air together?
It may be possible for several flights to overlap, but it is not guaranteed. Each pilot makes an independent take-off decision and may use different areas of lift or different landing approaches.
What if one person in the group changes their mind?
Tell the team as soon as possible. Nobody should feel pressured to fly. Any booking change or cancellation is then handled according to the conditions attached to the reservation.
